MARLBOROUGH ROAD METHODIST CHURCH
BANBURY OXFORDSHIRE
Network
Many years ago, the Methodist women pledged themselves to devise ways of raising money to support
the work of their sisters who had been sent overseas by the then Methodist missionary. Society Groups met all
over country under the name of Women's Work, learning about the work they were supporting, raising money and
enjoying fellowship together.
In 1966, recognising the changes which had come about in the missionary work, the field of activity was
broadened as all women's fellowships were encouraged to come together under the umbrella name Network.
In our Circuit the ladies, (and a few men), still continue to meet throughout the year with the same keen interest
which was shown under women's work, and with the same aims, supporting work at home and overseas. Meetings are held
on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month at 2.30pm in the Wesley Room at Marlborough Road.
A printed program is available and newcomers will be warmly welcomed.
